Improve mobile data coverage inside buildings and vehicles

Thermal control coatings also known as lowE are widely applied on architectural and automotive glass. These single, double or triple silver coatings reflect the sun heat, reducing the cooling power consumption of our homes, cars and trains. These coatings are typically applied on large scale efficient production lines covering the whole surface with coating.

The drawback of these silver-based coatings is their limited transmission of other wavelength radiations, including the ones for our mobile phones. We all experience this signal attenuation by lowE-glass from the poor connection of our cell phone in modern buildings and trains.

Laser scribing thin lines in the coating creates an almost invisible grid that allows the 4G and 5G signals to pass through. The amount of removed coating is so small that the effect on the thermal performance is minimal. As such our technology creates mobile-friendly glass.
