ORION Laser Tech is proud to announce its participation in Glass Performance Days (GPD) 2025, taking place from June 10–12, 2025, in Tampere, Finland. GPD is one of the most influential conferences in the glass industry, bringing together global experts, researchers, and innovators to discuss the future of glass technology and processing.
We are thrilled to share that Nele Deckers, Chief Operating Officer at Orion Laser Tech, will be presenting during the conference. Her talk, titled “Lasers are set to play a pivotal role in the coming decades,” will be held on June 11th at 14:20. The session promises to provide insightful perspectives on the transformative role of laser technology in the glass industry.
Lasers, or Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, offer unmatched precision and versatility. In her presentation, Nele will explore how laser-based techniques such as cutting, cleaving, marking, and selective coating removal are revolutionizing the way glass is processed. One of the key innovations highlighted will be how laser technology enables the removal of Low-E coatings on glass, allowing improved 4G and 5G signal transmission—a breakthrough for modern architecture and transportation.
Beyond connectivity, the talk will cover how laser processing supports sustainability goals, improves design flexibility, and enhances glass performance for advanced applications like bird-friendly glass and switchable smart windows.
