We are proud to announce an exciting new chapter for ORION Laser Tech: Nele Deckers has been appointed as our new Chief Executive Officer.
For many of our customers and partners, ORION Laser Tech is closely associated with Wim Van de Vijver – and rightly so. Wim has played a pivotal role in building ORION into the innovative and trusted company it is today. While Nele now steps into the CEO role, we want to reassure you: Wim is not leaving ORION behind. He will continue to be deeply involved as a strategic thought leader, supporting Nele and contributing his experience, vision, and expertise to the company’s direction. Our customers can expect the same continuity, commitment, and technical excellence they have always known.
Nele brings a strong combination of technical background, leadership experience, and people-focused management to her new role. She holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Leuven and has built an impressive career across several leadership positions at SCIA, including Director of Product & Design and Customer Service Manager.
More recently, Nele has been serving as Chief Operating Officer at ORION Laser Tech, where she has been driving innovation and continuous improvement across our laser technology solutions and internal operations. Her passion for people management, strategy, and innovation has already had a meaningful impact on our organization, fostering both growth and operational excellence.
As CEO, Nele will continue to build on ORION’s strong foundation while guiding the company forward with a clear focus on innovation, customer success, and long-term partnerships. Together with Wim’s ongoing involvement as a thought leader, this leadership transition represents continuity as well as momentum – combining fresh perspectives with proven experience.
