Orion Laser Tech, a division of LAB Motion systems, is a high-tech company specialized in the development of laser processing machines for the glass industry. Orion does the development in-house and delivers turnkey solutions to the customer. As such, revolutionize-laser-processing-of-glass is not a mantra but a promise. 

Our machines require cutting-edge technologies in all aspects of the machine: advanced motion performance, state of the art lasers and optical systems, advanced features like machine vision integration and a custom software interface.

We are currently looking for an Field Service Technical for the Operations team of Orion Laser Tech. The operations team is in a fast-paced environment where you can quickly increase your knowledge and expertise in multiple disciplines. You will be responsible for field interventions at our customers around the globe, with the opportunity to grow into other functions.

Job description

  • During your time in Belgium, you will assemble machines to customer specifications based on instructions from the engineers and project leaders. Ideally, you will first help build the machines and later fully assemble them and put them into service at the customers.
  • Our estimate is that you will spend about 50% of your time abroad for installation of new machines and maintenance, service and support interventions.
  • You will be our face and spokesperson to the customer during interventions.
  • You have a key role in the mechanical and electrical aspects of the installations (e.g. cables, connectors, automatic controls, soldering,….).
  • You test the machines according to the specifications and prepare the acceptance tests
  • You investigate faults and deviations if the machine performance is not within tolerances; then you actively search for solutions which you implement.
  • You are on duty for part of the time.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English
