We are currently looking for an R&D engineer for the R&D team of Orion Laser Tech. The R&D team is in a fast-paced environment where you can quickly increase your knowledge and expertise in multiple disciplines. You will be responsible for developing and improving a wide range of production processes.
Job description
- Evaluate the performance of existing machines and processes and develop improvements
- Process characterization of different lasers, applications, customer requests,…
- Carry out application requests from the customer
- Research and evaluate new technologies or alternatives to existing processes
- Develop new machines and processes
- Create reports to share knowledge and provide technical support to the operations and sales team
Who are we looking for?
- You are highly motivated and result-driven
- You have a hands-on mentality and are not afraid to learn new things to tackle technical challenges
- A creative problem-solver
- You are technical and analytical
- Basic knowledge of 3D modelling (experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus)
- Basic knowledge of electronics
- Basic knowledge of programming skills (experience in Structured Text or Python is a plus) or willing to learn
- Master’s in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English
